【AVANT】 An Anthology of American Workwear
A must-read publication for denim fans, military uniform enthusiasts, and vintage workwear enthusiasts!
Avant is a biannual magazine founded by Frenchman Eric Maggiori. It traces the clothing of various classes and industries throughout history, from ancient times to the present day, and even to future trends. It is rich in content and illustrated with pictures. The editorial team uses a pragmatic spirit to trace the evolution of history for readers.
In the first installment of "An Anthology of American Workwear," we delve into workwear from the California Gold Rush era .
We interviewed "denim archaeologist" Brit Eaton and founder of The Inspiration Show Rin Tanaka , discussed the adventures of "denim hunting" with Bryan and Melody Kahtava , and painted a portrait of Jacob Davis , the inventor of the rivet - a key figure in changing the fate of Levi's.
We visited United Costume , one of Hollywood's most prestigious costume production companies, and investigated Japan's love for American workwear .
In addition, we also teach you how to judge the age of clothes by looking at the tags , and lead readers into the true story of the California Gold Rush .

If possible, always wash on the light cycle / gentle cycle or delicate cycleto prolong the garment life.
Please note that all indigo product including raw denim can “bleed” causing the transfer of indigo blue color from your garments to other surface like white Tshirt or light color shoes. The “bleeding” will lessen with wear and after first several washes. Wash dark jeans with dark cloth to avoid issues.
