The inheritance of beautiful craftsmanship

Inis Meáin is one of three Aran Islands, located at the farthest edge of Europe, thirty miles off the west coast of Ireland. It's a place of wild and rugged beauty that has always captivated visitors. However, making a living on the islands has always required independence, resourcefulness, and innovation.

For centuries, the women of this island have designed, spun, and woven fishermen's clothing. The sewing, passed down through generations, reflects the unique island environment: the turbulent and breathtaking sea and sky, the maze of wild plants, and the rock walls. These elements are echoed in diamonds, cables, trees of life, moss, and other patterns.
