Slimer¦ No one even said his name in the original Ghostbusters® film. The film crew called him, The Onionhead Ghost and he was only described in early drafts of the script as incredibly foul-smelling amorphous vapor.

Dan Aykroyd, who co-wrote and starred in the original film, intended fellow Saturday Night Live member John Belushi to co-star in the film, but after Belushi passed, director and producer Ivan Reitman pointed out that Slimer resembled Belushi's character in Animal House , so Aykroyd took to referring to Slimer in interviews as The Ghost of John Belushi. An oversized embroidered chenille patch shows Slimer from ˜The Real Ghostbusters™ having just raided a hot dog stand, green relish dripping from the dog, his tongue hanging out, his four teeth grinning. Varying embroidery methods render Slimer in plush 3-D. glow-in-the-dark proprietary Slimer leather patch is sewn on the inside at the neck. The jacket itself is made from 13oz solid black selvedge Japanese denim with a red line selvedge ID.
