However, early American-made products were the exact opposite. Manufacturers constantly experimented with various fabrics and weaving methods, trying every possible way to extend the life of the clothing, hoping that consumers would use them as long as possible.

As of 2022, Dehen still adheres to this idea. In his century-old factory in Portland, he uses the circular knitting machines that have woven countless high-quality garments in the past to continue to produce ideal products, which is almost contrary to the business model of today's large clothing companies.
