Inspired by U.S. military utility shirts from the 1950s, the FEM-002 sits somewhere between a shirt and a lightweight jacket.

The shirt takes vintage military details and updates them with modern proportions and fabric for everyday wear.

Much like denim, this shirt will soften and conform to the body with wear, developing richer texture and character over time.

The shirts are made in Japan by a specialized manufacturer, offering the same level of durability expected from military and workwear garments.

The Back Satin Fabric

The FEM-002 is made from a 100% cotton back satin fabric developed specifically for FAR EAST MANUFACTURING.

The fabric is woven to a balanced density, giving it a substantial handfeel without being too heavy.

The back satin fabric is vat-dyed for strong colorfastness against washing and sunlight. Rather than fading quickly, the color is designed to soften gradually with time and use.

This helps retain the underlying olive tone and creates a more natural aging process.

The Fit

The FEM-002 is designed as a fatigue-style overshirt, making it easy to wear as either a shirt or a light outer layer.

One of its most distinctive details is the simple tubular sleeve construction, with no buttoned shirt cuffs. This gives the garment more of a shirt-jacket character, making it easy to layer throughout the year.

Together with the FEM-001 Utility Trousers, it forms a classic U.S. military-inspired outfit, similar to those worn during the Korean War and Vietnam War eras.
