Our slim-fit champ Lean Dean in a new spectacular deep-tone, vintage-like, comfort stretch selvage denim from Kurabo, Japan. This unique selvage denim emerged from a close collaboration with Kurabo, aiming to blend the rustic charm of vintage denim with modern comfort stretch. Crafted to exude the aura of a '50s vintage selvage denim, Nudie opted for a rigid-like construction that accentuates the weft. Notably, the chosen warp and weft yarns possess a distinctive slubbiness, offering the dry denim an irregular appearance that enhances its rustic allure, and which will become more pronounced as the denim ages. The warp yarns, dyed with pure indigo, underwent an additional dip compared to Kurabo's regular deep indigo tone. By elevating the standard 8 dips of pure indigo to 9, Nudie deepened the indigo hue, enhancing the denim's aesthetic quality and ageing property. To intensify the vintage aesthetics, Nudie deliberately refrained from fully finishing the denim by modern standards. By bypassing the singeing process that typically removes protruding fibers, the Apex showcases a slightly 'hairy' appearance, akin to vintage deadstock denim. Nudie's deliberate choice of a deep navy color for the selvage contrast yarn ensures that the Apex stands out within Nudie's selvage range. As the denim ages, this contrast will become even more striking, adding a unique edge to its evolving character We're honored to collaborate with Kurabo and introduce Apex.
