Made in Japan, the UES No. 8 Slub Nep Short Sleeve Tee is a heavyweight essential with a distinctive, textured character that can be found in nowhere else. It’s cut from a 9.5 oz custom slub-nep cotton fabric that feels substantial in hand. The irregular yarn structure and the vintage dye gives the surface a rich, rugged look that will develop even more depth with time. The fabric feels so durable that we estimate it can last for at least 20 years with daily use.

UES Nep cotton yarn

The yarn that gives the fabric its distinctive texture is based on Australian cotton (30%), with 10% neps and 60% cotton waste, resulting in a unique slubby surface and neps that define the No.8 fabric.

You may notice threads of different colors attached to or mixed into the fabric in certain areas. This is a natural characteristic of the yarn, caused by the high 60% content of recycled cotton waste, and should not be considered a flaw.

Since the yarn is roughly twice as thick as the yarn used in UES’s Ramayana T-shirts, the fabric has a firm and substantial feel. A long-sleeve version is also available in the same fabric in Fall Winter seasons.

Finished with UES’s signature attention to detail, this tee features a reinforced neckline and a durable construction that helps it keep its shape through repeated wear. The fit is clean and timeless, making it easy to pair with denim, work pants, or shorts.
