Description
This LEATHER WANDER SHOULDER BAG is part of vasco’s B.L.W. series. Inspired by European vintage bags, it has been reworked with proportions and functionality suited for modern everyday use, resulting in a leather shoulder bag that combines a classic silhouette with practical daily usability.
B.L.W. stands for Baggage Load Wanderlust, carrying the idea of packing your belongings and setting out on a journey. The initials are embossed on the leather surface as part of the design.
The adjustable leather strap allows the length to be changed according to body shape, outfit, and carrying preference. It can be worn as a crossbody bag or adjusted for one-shoulder carry. The main compartment uses a vintage-style UNIVERSAL metal zipper, while the exterior zipper pocket and interior slip pocket make it easy to organize a wallet, phone, and other daily essentials.
The interior is lined with durable canvas, adding the support and durability needed for daily use while preserving the natural character of a leather bag.
The leather is vasco’s signature OLD OIL LEATHER. Made from full vegetable-tanned cowhide produced in Himeji, Japan, each hide is hand-dyed using the traditional hill-dyeing method, then finished with Kogashi burnishing and an oil finish. The result is a naturally uneven depth of color and texture reminiscent of European antique leather goods.
Because hill dyeing is completed by hand, each bag may show slight differences in color depth, dye marks, and leather grain. With use, the leather will gradually develop a stronger luster and deeper tone, revealing the rich aging character of OLD OIL LEATHER.
About the OLD OIL Series
OLD OIL is one of vasco’s most iconic leather series. The leather is made from full vegetable-tanned cowhide from Himeji, Japan, then hand-dyed using the traditional hill-dyeing method before being finished with Kogashi burnishing and oil finishing. This creates a warm handfeel and a layered depth of color similar to well-aged antique leather goods.
The hill-dyeing method originated in the Santa Croce region of Italy in the 19th century. Its character comes from artisans gradually applying dye by hand to the leather surface, allowing natural differences in color depth and tone to appear across different parts of the hide. As leather production has become increasingly mechanized, artisans who can skillfully perform this traditional dyeing method have become quite rare.
The traditionally cast solid brass hardware is also treated with an aged finish. Over time, the brass will naturally oxidize and change in color, developing marks of use together with the leather.

Notes
- This item is handcrafted using natural leather. Each piece may vary slightly in grain, color, and texture, which is a normal characteristic of natural leather.
- Because the leather is hand-dyed using the hill-dyeing method, each bag may show different degrees of color variation, dye marks, and tonal depth.
- Natural wrinkles, veins, pores, and small marks on the leather surface are individual characteristics of natural leather.
- Leather may transfer color slightly due to friction, sweat, or moisture. Please avoid prolonged contact with light-colored garments.
- If the leather gets wet, gently absorb the moisture immediately with a soft dry cloth, then let it dry naturally in a cool, well-ventilated place.
- With use, both the leather and brass hardware will gradually change in color and develop the unique aging character of the OLD OIL series.
