Y'2 Leather
【Y'2 Leather】Indigo Horse 1st Type Leather Jacket
Description
This dress is based on the design of a sports jacket that actually existed in the 1930s. It has a denim jacket type design with cat-eye buttons often seen in vintage jackets. With an adjuster belt and action pleats, it is a model that is not similar to a denim jacket in terms of both design and feel. For the material, we used "INDIGO HORSE," a material that boasts popularity among Y'2 LEATHER's leather jackets. The result is a product that can be worn more classically than a denim jacket and more casually than a classical design.
Y2 Indigo Horsehide
Typically, indigo dye is difficult to adhere to leather. However, after years of repeated trials by skilled tanners, Y’2 has successfully perfected the process of bonding indigo dye to leather. The base color of the leather is initially dyed to a shade resembling "natural" white color. As the indigo fades over time, this "natural" base color will gradually emerge, creating an effect similar to the fading of denim.
This jacket is made from approximately 1.3 mm thich horsehide, treated with a specialized indigo dyeing process. The bond between the leather and the indigo dye is remarkably stable, minimizing the risk of color transfer to other items while offering the ability of aging and fading with wear.
The jacket’s minimalist design preserves the iconic features of the Type 2 denim jacket, such as twin pleats on the front and a two chest pocket. To emphasize the natural texture of the leather, the design omits back pleats. But different from the Type I twin jacket, it preserves the side adjuster tabs, resulting in a cleaner and more streamlined look.
The interior is made of a blend of 80% cotton and 20% linen for enhanced comfort, while the sleeves are lined with durable nylon fabric for ease of wear. Brass buttons adorned with a laurel wreath motif are used on the front placket and cuffs, adding a vintage touch to the jacket.

Never use tumble dry on quality goods; never use softener; never use detergent that contain bleach.
If possible, always wash on the light cycle / gentle cycle or delicate cycleto prolong the garment life.
Please note that all indigo product including raw denim can “bleed” causing the transfer of indigo blue color from your garments to other surface like white Tshirt or light color shoes. The “bleeding” will lessen with wear and after first several washes. Wash dark jeans with dark cloth to avoid issues.
