Description
After 1931, the A-2, which replaced the A-1 flight jacket and symbolized the glory of the U.S. Army Air Force, came out. After being incorporated into the U.S. Air Force, the A-2 flight jacket, which quickly evolved into its final form, made outstanding contributions to World War II a few years later.
After the war, the films "The Great Escape" and "Pearl Harbor", which depicted the U.S. Army Air Force, and "Flying Tigers", which praised American volunteer pilots, became global hits. As a military-style fashion item, the A-2 jacket has since become beloved around the world.
This model A-2 is based on Contract No. 23380 from Rough Wear, one of the most historically representative A-2 manufacturers. The original 23380’s wide and roomy sleeves and chest have been modified into a slightly slimmer, more casual silhouette—making it better suited for modern daily wear and styling.
Full Aniline Tea Core Horsehide
Aniline finishing does not hide scratches or natural marks with pigments, allowing the leather to retain its transparent and beautiful surface—but this can only be achieved using the highest quality raw hides over long periods of development.
To achieve a deep, uneven tonal expression, rich hand-feel, and three-dimensional depth, Double Helix dyes the base tea core, then adds oil and wax to the surface again, allowing the leather to age with a striking patina.
