Crafted from 100% extra-long staple Zimbabwe cotton, this sanforized 15.7oz selvedge denim uses intense rope-dyed indigo for the world's deepest blue — while the vintage shuttle loom imparts slubby irregularity and softness that improves with wear.

Ring Dye

Everybody heard of rope-dyed denim or rope-dyed jeans. But the real aim is to create the “Ring Dye” effect.

The "ring dye" effect is a hallmark of premium denim achieved through indigo rope dyeing, where dye coats only the outer layers of yarn fibers, leaving the white core exposed for iconic fading.

A regular indigo denim yarn is dipped 8-12 times in an indigo batch on average. Whilst some denim may be dipped 16-20 times. Momotaro is known for dyeing their yarn 29-30 times to create a super dark indigo blue.

One-washed to minimize shrinkage (<1%) with stretch in waist. The jeans features robust details: thick top buttons, punched/ hidden rivets, roped belt loops, peach selvedge ID, jacquard pocket bags, vegetable-tanned cowhide patches, and chain-stitched hems—all embodying Okayama's artisanal excellence.

The point may not necessarily be the times a yarn has been dipped dyed, but rather the quality and gradation of the slowly penetrating indigo dye. We know that if you dip dye a cotton yarn too many times in an indigo dye bath, it can result in excessive dye accumulation and sticky surface. This is not ideal at all for denim weaving or aging ability. All in all, Momotaro somehow managed to achieve this dark indigo hue while preserving the abundance in blue gradience, making it one of the most sought after denim jeans on the market.

Classic #002 Fit

The Classic #002 is a double-pocket heritage jacket with slightly loose width and length, offering balanced drape and everyday versatility. Stay closer to its 1950s heritage roots, the jacket is slightly trimmer than #002 from the Momotaro Standard line.
