We heard that once it sells out again, it could take up to 36 months before it can be restocked.
Asphalt Denim is one of the newer fabrics developed by ONI DENIM’s founder, Oishi-san. After more than a year of dedicated research, this fabric became a true statement piece: bold, experimental, and, as its name suggests, carrying a look and feel that closely resembles asphalt.
ONI Asphalt Denim
Unlike typical heavyweight denim jeans that rely only on ultra-thick yarns and extremely low-tension weaving, Asphalt Denim is crafted using highly irregular slub yarns and a secretive weaving formula that creates its exaggerated texture.
These special yarns are made by a small family-owned spinning mill that supplies exclusively to ONI for this fabric.
Combined with a deep indigo dye, the result is a surface that mimics the rugged character of asphalt pavement. White cotton slubs burst through the fabric and scatter unevenly like snowflakes, adding rich visual depth to the denim.
Look closely and you will notice that no two sections of the fabric are alike. Everything feels random and organic.
The indigo dye penetration varies dramatically due to the extreme yarn irregularity, creating highs and lows of color intensity. This may be one of the most irregular slub denims ONI has ever produced.
Like most ONI jeans, the fabric feels coarse at first but gradually softens with wear, becoming more comfortable over time.
One thing to note: Asphalt Denim has more stretch in the weave than usual, so we recommend sizing down one from your regular size. If you do not like your jeans too snug, your true size will also work.

ONI 288 Fit
The ONI 288 fit is a regular straight cut with a comfortable mid-rise.
It offers a classic, timeless silhouette with a bit more room in the thigh, flowing straight down from the knee.
It is versatile for both smart and casual outfits, and pairs well with almost any type of shoes. The overall look is relaxed but still clean, making it suitable for most body types.
How Much Do "ONI Asphalt" Stretch in waist?
You can expect the waist to stretch by at least 1 inch after the first day to one week of wear. With approximately 20-30 wears, the waist will stretch up to 1.5 inches.

Notes
- Hemming will take 2~4 working days.
- Once an item is been hemmed, it will not be eligible for return or refund.
- For the length on sanforized raw denim, it is recommend to add 2-3cm in length considering the shrinkage after first wash.
- For unsanforized denim, we normally offer them in rinsed (one-washed) condition, hence there is no need to consider shrinkage.
