【INDI+ASH】AMES WORKSHIRT Terracotta Shadow Plaid
Product Description
Our Ames, in a pattern inspired by some of the weaves of Anni Albers and crashed with the best old school vintage wool plaid overshirts.
Classic workshirt details inspired by old Big Mac workshirts, in a slightly oversized fit so it can be layered and worn like a jacket. Corozo nut fisheye buttons provide a natural twist on a classic detail. Kala Cotton gussets at the side seam.
Material & Craftsmanship
The midnight teal/iron Jordyn Plaid pattern is inspired by weaving remnants of Anni Albers. The yarns are hand dyed with a mix of botanical and mineral dyes.
We achieve our midnight teal color with a mix of myrobalan flower, indigo, pomegranate, and iron. The black is iron dyed – ferrous sulfate achieved from burning scrap metal and soaking it in Jaggery, a sugar water solution – the same process historically used to make India ink. The tan comes from the Acacia tree.
The yarns are then handwoven in this complex weave that incorporates a textural, small herringbone into the pattern.
