As one of the brand’s long-standing signature models, the HENRY is now introduced in a special tea-core leather version. Built on a classic silhouette that blends 1920s athletic footwear with British dress shoe proportions, this pair is crafted from Italian oil dyed tea-core leather, designed to develop visible character and depth over time.

The design draws inspiration from 1920s athletic shoes. At the time, a narrower toe shape and an extended lacing system running from the toe up toward the shaft allowed for more precise adjustment across different areas of the foot, improving both fit and stability. This functional construction also defines the shoe’s distinctive visual identity.

As styles evolved, this type of footwear transitioned from performance use into everyday wear. The HENRY builds on that foundation by incorporating the refined lines and proportions of British footwear, resulting in a silhouette that feels both structured and versatile. The extended eyelet layout and cleanly aligned lacing create a sharp and recognizable appearance.

Constructed using Goodyear welt construction, the shoe maintains structural durability while offering flexibility suited for daily wear. The name “HENRY” pays tribute to British boxer Henry Cooper, reflecting the model’s athletic roots.

Italian Oil Dyed Tea-Core Leather

The defining feature of this model is the use of Italian oil dyed tea-core leather.

Unlike commonly used pigment-finished leather, this version is built on vegetable-tanned calf leather. Through an oil dyeing process, both dye and oils penetrate into the fiber structure rather than sitting on the surface, resulting in a more layered and natural color expression.

With wear, the surface color gradually changes, revealing the deep brown core underneath. This tea-core effect does not fade evenly, but instead develops differently across areas depending on movement and friction, creating natural contrast and variation.

Compared to more uniform leather finishes, this process emphasizes long-term evolution. Over time, creasing and wear will shape the leather’s color and texture, allowing each pair to develop its own unique appearance.

Tongue Loop Design

This version of the HENRY features an added tongue loop to help keep the tongue in place during wear, preventing it from shifting while walking.

To maintain a clean and minimal appearance, the loop is intentionally positioned slightly off-center rather than directly in the middle. It is designed to work by threading a single lace through the loop, without the need for crisscrossing, while still providing effective stabilization.
