Brand Introduction
Originating from Montreal, Canada, Naked & Famous (N&F) is sometimes referred to in Chinese as “One-Take Fame” or “The Naked Lady.” The brand name itself is a satire of modern celebrity-worship culture—especially the Hollywood-driven habit of creating flashy brands whose price tags often come from celebrity endorsements rather than true craftsmanship or quality materials.
Naked & Famous refuses to follow the typical mold of fashion brands. Founder Brandon Svarc does not use celebrity endorsements; instead, the entire budget is devoted to fabric development. The brand uses old Japanese shuttle looms to weave some of the most solid and respected raw denim fabrics on the market—no artificial distressing, no unnecessary washes, just pure denim in its original state paired with contemporary urban cuts.
The brand works closely with Japan’s top denim mills, sourcing seasonal fabrics from Kuroki, Japan Blue, Kaihara, Nihon Menpu, Kurabo and more—constantly pushing denim innovation to new heights.
Fabric & Illustration Collaborations
Each fabric used by Naked & Famous has its own unique characteristics. The brand also collaborates with renowned artist Alvin Lee (creator for Street Fighter) to visually express the distinct personality of each denim fabric.
Promoting the Art of Fading
The beauty of denim lies in the natural fading that appears through wear. High-quality denim made with rope dyeing fades more gracefully, and each pair develops a unique character based on the wearer’s lifestyle and washing habits.

Yes — all of that dramatic fading came from the deep indigo jeans seen above.
Over years of “experimentation,” Naked & Famous has created some of the most extreme and imaginative denim concepts on the market: jeans that glow in the dark, jeans infused with fragrance, jeans incorporating bulletproof fibers, and more. These playful experiments sharpened the brand’s design language; today, while the wild concepts still exist, N&F more often releases limited-edition fabrics aimed at serious denim enthusiasts.

MIJ Collection
The Made in Japan (MIJ) series is Naked & Famous' highest tribute to Japanese craftsmanship — every vintage detail you can imagine is faithfully reproduced.
The collection features Japan’s traditional Tempi Treatment — hand-soaked denim that reduces shrinkage while preserving the raw fabric’s integrity.
To Naked & Famous, Japanese denim is not only superior in quality and refinement — it carries the soul of craftsmanship. By combining meticulous construction with fair pricing, the brand makes once-exclusive artisanal denim accessible to more people.
This mirrors the spirit of Andy Warhol’s pop art: bringing what was once reserved for the elite into everyday life. The iconic blonde lady on the N&F leather patch represents this same philosophy.
