Mister Freedom
Mister Freedom, an internationally renowned California-based vintage store and its eponymous brand, was opened in 2003 by French-American Christophe Loiron. Its Hollywood location serves as a retail space, headquarters, and creative studio.
Mister Freedom's creativity and innovation in the production of period clothing are unmatched. Behind this is the painstaking effort honed by the owner's meticulous reading and research of countless vintage pieces. Each piece is a collector's item, beautifully crafted by master craftsmen from Japan and the US, making it a worthy investment and long-term collection. Owner and designer Christophe's philosophy is expressed through his words: "By creating original stories and clothing worn by original fictional characters within authentic historical contexts, MSFC doesn't aim to recreate vintage pieces from the original era, but rather to create garments that could have existed in history but never did." Each piece carries its own story and owner, a vision often lacking in modern clothing. Christophe's passion for raw denim and military workwear has led him to collaborate with Toyo Enterprises (Sugar Cane Co./Buzz Rickson) in Japan since 2006. Most of the pieces utilize premium, exclusive, original-order (NOS) fabrics sourced from Japan, and the stitching is performed by skilled craftspeople in both the US and Japan, resulting in unparalleled detail.
